Influence of Plant Growth Regulators and Sucrose on Adventitious Shoot Formation from Cotyledonary Explants of Apple




Abstract
The experiment was carried out to investigate the influence of auxins, cytokinins and sucrose concentration on adventitious shoot formation from cotyledonary explant of apple in vitro. Effect of plant growth regulators on adventitious shoot formation was tended to be efficient on BA 3.0 §·¡¤L^(-1) + NAA 0.5 §·¡¤L^(-1). The rate of shoot formation was 31.7%. And the rate of shoot formation was increased to 77.8% in medium with zeatin 0.1 §·¡¤L^(-1). Sucrose concentration affected on adventitious shoot formation from cotyledonary explant of apple and the rate of shoot formation was increased to 60¡­70% in sucrose 20, 30, 70 g¡¤L^(-1). While regenerated shoot length was short (1.6 §®) in medium with sucrose 70 g¡¤L^(-1), regenerated shoot length was long (2.0¡­2.3 §®) in sucrose 20¡­30 g¡¤L^(-1) medium.
